Galaxy Book Pro 360 Thunderbolt Port Slow Performance

Computer: Model NP930QDB-KE1US (Galaxy Book 1 Pro 360)

Window 11 (with all the latest updates as of this post).

Thunderbolt port with SSD 500 GB and proper cable for thunderbolt performance.

Only get 25-30 MB/sec read or write ... very poor and way under the rated performance of 40 GB/sec.

I have tried several options with various disks/SSD, and SDXC chips and never get above basic USB C performance which should also be way faster than 30 MB/sec.

Ideas? Is this a defect in the laptops architecture?

Turns out my cable was defective .... went to local store and got a new Thunderbolt 4 cable and immediately got 900 MB/s improvement ... still not the 32 GB/sec as per the Thunderbolt 4 spec, but much improved. I dont think it is possible to get anywhere near the 32 GB/sec with a single disk ... maybe with a disk array with multiple disks the aggregrate could get up to 32 GB/sec.
