Has anyone ever experienced the Samsung Galaxy A16? In my opinion, I believe it's 1 of the worst phones ever. I lost my Note 20 Ultra 5G on the way home from work. Find my phone couldn't locate it. Plus the service provider at the time was no help at all. So I went to metro pcs, referred by a friend, and switch services. Then I decided on the S25+, but of course they were out of stock. So I got the A16 cause I needed something. Top 5 worst decisions. Slow, and extra slow. Glitches, freezes, just nothing what I'm ise to. I really want the S25 Ultra, but that price is a mountain. What are your thoughts about Samsungs A16?

Once again, there is no substitute for research.  If you wanted a phone with a certain performance level and certain features, you should have investigated the specs and read reviews.

Also, *you* are the one who came on here saying how you swore by Samsung and now you hate them because you don't like the performance of their low end phone.  There are two other A models in each series, either one of the other two I can guarantee you will be happier with.  Yet, you never state what, specifically, garnered your disappointment so that perhaps someone in the community can assist you in making it tolerable.  Saying something "sucks" is not descriptive of issues.

You are right. I bought it because it was Samsung. I swear by there name. I loved all the past phones I've had. I didn't think there was a phone I wouldn't like. I don't know what to do now. Phones are not cheap. Live & learn I guess.

If you can cite specific issues, perhaps we can help.

I liked the widgets for the clock & weather. I also liked knowing that my msg was read. I can't insert a sd card in it. I have tried to open it with the pin they gave me. Never had problems in the past, but it's happening this time. I didn't look at the amount of storage it had... 128GB. I usually try to get 256GB or more. I can't get the visual voicemail to work, there are numerous things that have made it a pain. Switching all of my info & things over from my old phone. I would have to make a list as I remember. It was a poor decision all around. It's more work than I remembered. Thanks for trying tho.

Samsung's visual voicemail app does not work on a lot of phones, as a matter of fact, it's not even visible for download in the Galaxy store if your phone is not eligible.  Since voicemail is a carrier function, they have to allow a visual voicemail app to be functional with with their system.  Some carriers, like T-Mobile, have their own visual voicemail app.  Check to see if your carrier has their own.  You also have the option of switching your dialer to Phone by Google which, I understand, has a vvm component.

That you can't open the SD tray with the pin could mean the tray is damaged in some way.  Do you have a physical SIM or an eSIM?  If you put in a physical SIM, you may have slightly damaged the tray when reinserting it.  I have only 128 GB of storage on this one and my previous S model.  I haven't even come close to filling it up.  But, then, I don't need a whole lot of apps and I occasionally uninstall apps I have not used in a while or don't need to keep on my phone at all times.  I can always download them again when I need them; and I do keep my photos on the SD card.  I don't take a lot of photos either, so my Photos (and music) take up less than 2 GB of space.  You can still connect a flash drive to occasionally move photos and data files off the phone.  Flash drives being portable can be taken with you on a keychain so if you need to access anything that's on it, it can easily be done.  Admittedly not as convenient as not having to think about it by having an SD card, but still easy enough.

You might try stopping by a uBreakiFix location (if one is in your vicinity) and seeing if they can help you open the tray, and perhaps repair it if it's damaged.  They really shouldn't even charge you for it.  Some things are "courtesy fixes".

I had same problems with this phone. It is horrible. For some who has had higher end phones the A16 just doesn't work . You are right about that. I regret taking the free phone.

The A16 is a basic phone, with basic features and is meant to act as phone that can do basic stuff and basic internet surfing, and it is for budget conscious users or users who do not need all the bells and whistles of advanced devices.  Some people only *do* need a phone. It is not an advanced device in the slightest sense.  As such, it will have the least amount of features.  If you are used to a higher end phone, this is not the device for you - any mid or higher range A series phone would  have been less disappointing.  Whether the phone is horrible or not depends entirely on your expectations of what you wanted/needed it to do.  A little pre-purchase research of any device's capabilities would save a lot of angst, and at least you would have an informed idea of what you are getting or not getting.
