Hi, my sister has changed her phone password 8 days ago. And she forgot it. After that she put many wrong passwords and now the phone is stuck. It is not even turned off. I tried to unlock it from find my mobile samsung but there I only get the option to lock the device. Even after putting that password to her phone it took me to enter previous password which she already forgot. After attempting one more wrong password it again went to try again after 24 hours. It is also on a boot loop so it is also not turning off it restarts whenever I try to force switch it off. I tried to do factory reset but it also asks me the verification code or backup code. It's really very frustrating. What should I do 😭

I can imagine how stressful this is 😞. Let me break it down carefully, because what’s happening is a mix of Samsung’s security features and the phone being stuck in a boot loop.

---

Why this is happening

1. Wrong password attempts → Samsung locks the device and enforces 24-hour delays to protect against brute-force unlocking.

2. Find My Mobile → Only lets you lock or wipe the device, not bypass a forgotten password (unless "Unlock" is available, which sometimes disappears with newer updates).

3. Factory reset → Even if you reset the phone, Samsung’s FRP (Factory Reset Protection) requires the Google account (and sometimes Samsung account) that was previously signed in. This is intentional to prevent stolen phones from being reused.

4. Boot loop & won’t turn off → That sounds like either a stuck process from too many failed attempts or a system crash.

---

What you can try

Here are the realistic options:

1. Check again on Find My Mobile

Log into Samsung Find My Mobile.

See if the “Unlock” option appears (sometimes it only shows up if the phone has an internet connection and is linked to the Samsung account).

If "Unlock" isn’t there, you can still try "Erase device" (factory reset). But remember: you’ll need the Google/Samsung account login afterwards.

2. Force shut down (if stuck in boot loop)

Try this key combo:

Hold Volume Down + Power for ~7–10 seconds.

If that doesn’t work, try Volume Down + Power + Volume Up until it vibrates.
This should force it off instead of just restarting.

3. Recovery mode reset

If you can get it to shut down:

Hold Volume Up + Power (sometimes with Bixby if available).

When the Samsung logo appears, let go.

In recovery mode, choose Wipe data/factory reset.
⚠️ After this, you must enter the Google account that was previously synced.

4. If nothing works

At this point, the phone may be in a security lockout state that only Samsung service can clear.

You’d need to take it to an authorized Samsung service center with proof of purchase/ownership. They can reflash the firmware and properly reset it.

---

👉 Sadly, there is no way to bypass the password/FRP lock without the correct credentials. That’s by design for theft protection.
👉 But if your sister remembers her Google account (email + password) or Samsung account, you’ll be able to recover it after reset.

Thank you for responding to this message actually I tried every steps that you have told me and before the message that I sent here.

As none of them worked I have planned it to send it to the Samsung service centre now and I will definitely ask her to it tomorrow.

Thank you once again.

Why is your sister not posting here herself? Did she change her password to keep you out of her phone, and now you are trying to bypass it? The only way to change the password would be to factory reset the phone.  If the phone is in a boot loop, let it rest until the battery dies.  After charging the phone, you can try to restart into recovery mode by pressing and holding both the volume up and power button.  As soon as the Samsung logo appears on screen, let go of both buttons, then press the volume up button until the phone enters recovery.  You can attempt this from the boot loop, but you have to be very quick.  Once the phone reboots and the Samsung logo appears on the screen, immediately press and repeatedly tap the volume up button.  It is best and easiest to attempt this from a dead start.  After the reset, your sister will have to log into her Google and Samsung accounts and restore her backup.  Passwords are never saved with a backup, so she will have to go to the security settings to reset it and any biometrics she has stored.  When she sets her new password, she should write it down in a secure place (that she can remember where she put it), so if she forgets it again, she will be able to recover it. I don't know why people create passwords that are so easily forgettable.

We need to deal with the problem and not put blame on others for getting locked out of their phone.

The problem here is either that the "sister" forgot her password and cannot get into her phone - for which the only way to regain access is a full reset - This is a security measure to prevent bad actors from grabbing your phone and resetting your own password on you; or the poster is trying to gain access to a phone that they formerly had access to and the owner decided they didn't want them to have that access anymore.  And, it absolutely *is* on the user for getting locked out if they changed a password to something they can't remember and didn't write it down somewhere.

Your interpretation is right and that's why Samsung also made sure that this kind of system should be there in phone so no one can access my password and my phone and they can't steal it right but it actually happened to her because the she didn't know much about 4G has recently started using cell phones and that's why she made this kind of mistake and now she is in trouble and I am only trying to help her it also to alot of my time too which is actually frustrating for me as well.

Thank you for your suggestion as well and I actually tried all the steps that you have told me as well.

And by the way if she had been that much literate then she wouldn't have done this kind of mistake right if she did that means she can't make sure that how to unlock it and how to post something like this that's why I am asking and trying to help her and she is my cousin not my birth sister so I can help her as much as possible if not I will send it to Samsung service centre.

Thank you once again

There have been many instances where people who did not have rights were trying to gain access to someone else's phone without having to do a reset.  As I stated before, it's likely best you let the battery die before trying to reset, then after you charge it up, it should be out of the boot loop and you should be able to boot into recovery mode to reset without needing the password.  Follow the instructions given above.  It's best your sister decides on her password now and then write it down so she can copy it to the phone exactly as she wrote it and then keep the written password in a safe place.  If she has a computer, I suggest a notepad file on the computer.  You shouldn't have to send it to a service center.  You can look up a service center near you and they can reset it for you.  There may be a nominal charge.
