My washer is leaving sediment in the bottom and on clothes after washing. The unit is over 10 years old and just started doing it over the last few months, steadily getting worse. I pulled the agitator and obviously it was caked with crud, my guess is liquid detergent and fabric softener residue. My wife is old school and can't grasp the new HE recommendations. I cleaned underneath the agitator as best i could and have done a number of self cleaning programs with different chemicals to see if i can get rid of it. After every cycle, the crud is back. Anyone with any suggestions?
