I'm on my tablet most of the day, and frequently let the screen timeout and have to wake the tablet up and login again. After the timeout, frequently a double tap on the screen will not wait the tablet up. If that happens then hitting the side button will wake the tablet up but the fingerprint breeder then does not work. If I'm in the right light and position then the facial recognition will log me in. But, I have to allow the tablet screen to time out a second time for the fingerprint reader to reactivate.

This is one of many issues that I've experienced with Samsung products. Quite frankly, I am very tired of having to be The Proving Ground for their products instead of them coming to Market ready for their customers to use.

@GVoice4Life I haven't experienced anything like this on my Tab S10+. Perhaps you have a 3rd party app which is causing this issue.

You can try booting into safe mode. If the Tab works as expected while booted in safe mode, you know that it is caused by 3rd party software.

Whatever it was, like so many other strange issues that plague Samsung's devices, it was cured by a Restart.

Unfortunately, my problem is back. Looking at your response again, @LongHiker, it really doesn't make sense to me how a piece of third party software could prohibit the waking up of your device, and the operation of the fingerprint reader. This has got to be a flaw either in the device itself for the operating system. The third party software should not have that sort of access.

@GVoice4Life 3rd party software can do a lot of things. If it misbehaves and fills up CPU cycles or overloads memory a lot of unpredictable things can happen.

As I mentioned, a quick troubleshooting technique is to boot into safe mode.

I TRIED TO GET INTO SAFE BOOT, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK!!! Besides, if I reboot the problem goes away for a while anyway.
I'm not going to argue with you about the OPS safeguards that should be in place. I've worked with OPS' before and know that they allow access to software but should be protected from them taking over your system and doing whatever they want. The OPS and Firmware critical functions should be protected once the device is released into the field, unless it is specialized software. And, I have nothing on my device that isn't from Google Play or The Galaxy Store.
