I am having the hardest time trying to send text messages?  What are my options? It keeps saying " failed to send message". I know I had other tablets that could send text messages . I have cleared cache and repaired apps and still can't figure this out.

The first thing you should try is making sure you have a decent signal — without cell or Wi-Fi connectivity, those texts are going nowhere.
A soft reset of your device can usually fix an issue with outgoing texts, or you can also force a power cycle reset.
Clearing your text message app's cache is also a good way to refresh it and remove any glitches. If this doesn't work I recommend reaching out to your service provider for further instructions.

Hello! I understand how this can be a cause for concern with your tablet not sending messages, just want to confirm do you have the WIFI version or the data version of the tablet?

Both . I'm on t-mobile unlimited and use my wifi at home .
