TabletsI have some strange problems connecting USB devices which seem to be related to hubs. Here are two examples:
1. I can connect an external disk fine directly, but when I connect an external disk via a hub, it is not identified.
2. I can connect a physical keyboard fine through a simple hub (basically an old USB to a USB-C connector), but when I try to connect the very same keyboard through a docking station, it is not recognised.
In both cases the devices are all fine (tested with a computer).
Is this some definitions problem?
Thanks

TabletsYes, of course.
I also checked the docking station with my S24. It connected fine to the screen, keyboard and mouse and switched to DeX, as it should.
Thanks,

TabletsI don't think it's a hardsare problem because:
1) I can see these devices using the 'USB Device Info' app. When I plug the disk I can see it as a 'mass storage device'. When I plug the docking station I can see the keyboard as a 'HID device'.
2) When I plug the docking station it does identify and use correctly the external screen.
Since these worked with my old S6 tablet and still work with my S24 phone, it must have been some relatively recent change that broke them. Perhaps some permissions issue? Are there permissions related to USB?
Does samsung have a site for reporting bugs?
Thanks,

Tablets"Does samsung have a site for reporting bugs?"
Reproduce the issue and then open the Samsung Members app, click on Support (Lower right)->Feedback->Send Error Report, Remember to check on "Send System Data Log"

Yes, Android changed the way that USB devices can be accesses and the app developer has to include that code in the app. I'm not sure when it changed, around Android 12 I think.
What device are you using and depending on the Android version My Files should be able to read the device though the number of apps which have been updated to work with the new permissions is pretty limited for some reason.

TabletsI can't say I completely understood what you meant here. I tried
Settings > Security and Privacy > App Security and
Settings > Security and Privacy > Auto Blocker
and they are both off. And I tried
Settings > Apps > USBSettings
but it does not require any permissions.
Did you mean something else?
