I Can't connect Samsung A11+ tablet to Samsung S24 Ultra for phone calls no longer.

Devices
Samsung A11+ Tablet
Samsung S24 Ultra Phone

History
All devices are updated as of January 2026.
All devices have been reset or restarted.
I've tried removing my account and adding it back on.
It worked for a while in the beginning. Then stopped working.

I don't know if there is a software interfering with this feature. I can't make phone calls or receive calls on my tablet through my phone anymore. It says your tablet has changed networks. All devices are on the same network. My phone is used as a hotspot. It keeps defaulting to my hotspot, instead of defaulting to auto connect.

I understand other people have similar problems using older devices and I'm currently using newer devices or current devices. I'm having issues too.

Please help.

I'll check and verify but I'm willing to bet the tablet stopped getting updates and now is incompatible with the updated OS on the phone. Do you go into settings and then to about this phone or about this tablet check on both and see what version of Android they're running. In the meantime as soon as I get home I will check and see if I have the same issue. I did at one point with my Galaxy tab s5e and never regain the compatibility. I know it still works with my Galaxy tab S8 Ultra but I'm not certain on the A11.

I can't seem post Images or screenshots from my phone or tablet as far as the software versions from the two devices is concerned. This forum is pretty limited.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Tablet A11+ are fully updated to Android 16 / One UI 8.0

I tried this and for some reason it's working now for the moment:

Clear Cache and Try Again
If the update fails, clearing the cache can sometimes force the system to recognize a new update:
- Go to Settings > Apps.
- Find and tap on Google Play Services and Google Play Store.
- Tap Storage > Clear cache and Clear data.
- Restart your tablet and try to check for the update again.

Why is it behaving this way and what's going on?
