i unintentionally cleared important notes with my legs while the phone was in my pocket.

i tried to undo them, but at some point the undo button became grey and i couldnt undo any further. is there a limit to using the undo button and can i somehow circumvent that limit?

I read that you can only undo until the last app closing. but i do not think my pocket editted the file, closed it, opened it again and editted more. so it seems to me, as if there is an absolute limit on using the undo button.

It is because you saved it. You cannot go back after saving the note.

The only saving option i can find is the 'Save as file' option in the 3 point menu. when i click that, i am asked as what kind of file i want to save it and then where i want to save it. it seems unlikely that my pocket did all these steps.
and even if, then it would have created a backup so it would make little sense, to prohibit undos in inside the app in the temporary file

The real question is, why is your phone unlocked while in your pocket?  Having it locked or at least having the program closed, will prevent any of that from happening.  What would really prevent any of it from happening is keeping the phone out of your pocket.

Well, when it's saved to files, you can no longer edit it. Also, I agree with @realaud. Why would you have the note app open in your POCKET?

@ikaem15 I'm pretty sure that there is a limited number of undos. I have ran into it before.

If thats true, is there a way to circumvent the limit?

Typically a limit like this is set by the developer based on how much RAM or stack they dedicate to the Undo process. So there would be no work around.
