Phone not fully registered

When my wife tries to open the Samsung Find app, she gets the error "Your phone hasn't finished registering to your Samsung account. Try again later". Additionally, if I go to https://samsungfind.samsung.com/ her device does not show up. This has been a problem ever since my wife got the phone 2 years ago (refurbished - which I think might be part of the problem).

I was on a 30-minute call earlier today where the support team took control of my phone and verified it was not related to the Find app but instead had to do with my phone's registration to my account. We did all the debugging things - uninstall, re-install, clear cache + storage, log out, log in, unregister, re-register - and nothing helped. I even tried logging in as myself on her phone to see if the account was just messed up, and that did not help.

When I go to my wife's account it does show her phone as a normal, registered device. I have had multiple chats/texts with the Samsung account team and they are worthless at helping. They just keep explaining how to login - yeah if the simplest solution worked, I wouldn't be contacting you.....

Is there any way to see if my phone was registered under a previous owner's account and the SN duplication is blocking me from fully using it on my account? I am out of ideas at this point.

This is a known issue with some devices. Put in an error report immediately after attempting to use the find app. Maybe some day they'll fix what they broke. Their standard response has been to tell us to factory reset. However, you can use Google's find hub (already on your phone) to locate the phone I'm. I have this issue with my watch. The Samsung find app no longer sees it, but Google does.

Thanks for the suggestion! I put an error report in yesterday and they responded that I need to call for support. I called today and had a phone call of debugging, with no fix.

It is frustrating they won't acknowledge an issue and keep pointing fingers at each other - account setup vs device settings.

I have been using Google's find hub, but is annoying when Google, afaik, has no good way of sharing functionality to ring a lost phone between accounts. Don't ask me why someone in my family misplaces their phone so much 😂

It's been a problem for 2 years, so why didn't you resolve it back then?

Pound oh six pound (triple check this, please to make sure it's correct)

To verify what you want, and what phone model is this?

I didn't fix it in the past 2 years, because as the other user suggested, I just use google find hub. But now we bought some smarttags so I want to use those to locate her phone if we lose it.

Found an interesting error message when I tried to visit SmartThings Find.

"Verizon doesn't allow this website to be accessed on this phone.;"

That combined with  quite a few reports that Verizon blocks this seems to be my next guess. I am still not sure why this works on my S25, but not my wife's A71...

I have no signal but do see Verizon hopping on T-Mobile towers in my analytics. A phone shouldn't be this difficult for anyone.
