I totally disagree about search bar on top. Come on. You clearly have never used a bigger device like Ultra series where you always struggle with getting a thumb to search in the drawer

We agreed to disagree but the search bar should be at the top and not the bottom or the option to have either or but having it at the bottom is a pain in the **bleep** on my s24 ultra.

The update has completely ruined the battery life of my phone. The layout is complete trash. Can't see the battery icon. The half and half pull from the top half **bleep** works. It requires several times of pulling it down to get the right option. Numerous glitches of things not working smoothly like it was before the update. Everyone involved in this update needs to be fired and not allowed at a keyboard ever again. I will not be buying another Samsung device

Long press on the home screen and go to settings. You can toggle "swipe down for notification panel," which will let you pull down for notifications anywhere on the home screen.

You can also change the panels from separate to together. Pull down quick settings, tap the pencil, and go to panel settings.

First I would suggest wiping the cache partition to see if that helps

          1. Turn off the device.
          2. Connect To Computer , Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
          3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
          4. Wait until the android system recovery menu options appear.
          5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
          6. Press Power key to select.
          7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
          8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
          9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

And here are the steps to revert back to some of the old settings the Battery Icon may get updated in the future also

Quick Notification settings

  1. Swipe down from the top right of the screen.
  2. Click the Pencil icon in upper right.
  3. Click the Panel settings in upper left
  4. Change the setting from Separate to Together.

App drawer Settings

  1. Open the App Drawer
  2. Click the 3 dots in the Search Bar
  3. Select Sort
  4. Custom
  5. Now you can rearrange your Apps to where you had them before the update.

Did you clear cache partition? That should help resolve some of the issues you are having.

As for the new features and interface, this is Google's vision for Android. The vertical drawer, divided notifications/quick settings, and live notifications are all features of Android 16 and will be present on virtually all flagship Android devices by 2026.

As far as battery life, you have a completely new OS and it will take time for the phone to relearn how you use it. This can take a week or two.

You should also clear the device cache partition. This will remove cached system files from the old OS so the new one can start fresh.

Here are steps on how to do that:

1) Turn off your device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.

3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."

4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."

6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.

I love everyone trying to help debug the update. What normal person wants to spend time getting their phone to be functional?
