Hi there, thanks for pointing this out. Most of the time, “incorrect calculations” happen because of rounding rules or app settings, not the actual formula.
For example, if your bill is $125.50 and the tip is 15%, then:
Tip = $18.83 (125.50 × 0.15 = 18.825 → rounded to 18.83)
Total = $144.33
If your app shows something different, it could be due to:
-
Different rounding preferences (to the nearest dollar or cent)
-
Incorrect regional or decimal settings
-
A small app bug or cached data
You can try closing and reopening the app, clearing the cache, and checking Settings → Region/Locale.
I cross-checked this with TipCalculator.us and got the same results, it’s a quick way to verify calculations manually.
If you share your bill amount, tip %, and what the app shows, I can help you confirm whether it’s a glitch or just a rounding difference.
Hope this helps!
