It can be frustrating when your apps don't work as expected, especially after an update.

Here are some things to understand and steps you can take to address the issues you're having!

โ˜† Understanding who is responsible for what.
Imagine your phone or tablet as a shopping mall. The mall was built, owned, and operated by Samsung. The mall's owner is responsible for maintaining the facilities and property, as well as any services the mall itself directly provides to consumers.

Inside the mall are various stores, each one with a different set of products for sale and a unique function. These are the apps on your device. Even though they exist inside the shopping mall, each store is independently owned and operated. Each shop owner has autonomy and runs their business as they see fit.

Now imagine you are in the food court of this shopping mall.

You are quite hungry and order a cheeseburger, only to receive this:

Who is responsible for the fact that you were served a moldy sock-burger? Is it the owner of the shopping mall, or the owner of that specific burger shop in the shopping mall?

Obviously, the mall owner just rents out the space, and the restaurateur is responsible for making it right if they want to 1) remain in business and 2) retain you as a customer.

In the same way, third party app developers are responsible for making sure their apps work properly, especially after a major update. While the app may run on a Samsung phone, it is not up to Samsung to make it right.

Now that we understand who is responsible for what, here are some things you can try if you find apps aren't working properly after an update:

โ˜† Follow Samsungโ€™s Best Practices Guide
In particular, clearing device cache is an important practice in order to clean up junk files and keep things running smooth.

See the guide here:

โ˜† Use Samsungโ€™s Good Guardians

Download Good Guardians and run its various modules. These modules optimize performance and can identify unusual behavior.

App Booster re-optimizes your apps. This should be run after an update.

If the issue persists, it may be an issue with the specific app rather than with your device.

โ˜† Make sure the app is up to date.
Check the Play Store/Galaxy store for updates.

โ˜† Troubleshoot by restarting the app.
Sometimes app issues are as simple to resolve as force closing and restarting that particular app. To do this, open the Task Switcher. This is the view where your apps appear as cards side-by-side. Close the troublesome app by swiping up or tapping "Close all."

โ˜† Troubleshoot by clearing app data.
Go to Settings > Apps > Desired app > storage > clear cache. If that doesn't help, clear data. If that doesn't help, uninstall/reinstall.

โ˜† If none of these steps correct your problem, send an error report to the app's developer (developer contact info available in Play Store Listing) to make them aware of the issue.

โ˜† If the app is a first party app developed by Samsung, you can send feedback in the Samsung Members app. Visit the Support tab and navigate to "Send Feedback."

No matter how I'm using my phone, it will change\All by itself. I can be using the GPS and it will close and open app a whole new page of something else that I had been doing with no help, just constantly changing from one window to another. Is there a solution to this? I've never had this happen before

Hard to say without specific details of your device, installed apps, etc. But generally unexpected redirects, app launches, pop ups, etc can be attributed to malicious apps that have been installed, intentionally or inadvertently.

See my previous post for a more in-depth guide to troubleshooting these kinds of issues:

Have you followed Samsungโ€™s Best Practices Guide following your most recent update?

In particular, clearing device cache is an important practice in order to clean up junk files and keep things running smooth.

The food court owner to an extent an good mall/business owner would actively be involved an want only good business being conducted on his premises. So assuming this is a "quality" mall shouldn't it be involved in the outcome as well? Or... is this a buy at your own risk mall? Ebay operates the same way you explain but they are a prime example they offer money back gareentee.. to prevent bad apples from selling in there "Mall"... @Samasung wouldn't you agree?????? ๐Ÿ˜Š

You just created a weird argument that doesn't follow the validity of third-party mobile apps.

No, the "mall" doesn't get involved in quality control with an app as long as it doesn't violate publishing policies set by Samsung. Thus, shops in a mall don't affect the mall unless the shops violate the mall's policies. A poor app experience doesn't constitute Samsung getting involved.

Your Ebay example also makes no sense because Ebay has a policy set for that kind of stuff. Samsung doesn't have a policy to upkeep apps after updates, as it was clearly explained.
