Well, that is all well and good. For my S22 Ultra which will continue til OneUI 8.5 getting major OS releases. But, it does NOT explain the Tab S6 Lite from 2020, which its last OneUI UPDATE WAS WAY BACK ON 5.1.1. At least let my poor old tablet update Google Play System. Dont go dragging it into the mess that newer hardware is in.
If your older tablet is no longer getting regular security patches, Play system updates won't fill that gap. The best thing to do with older devices is use anti-malware software and practice good cyber hygiene (don't click unknown links, don't install sketchy apps, etc).
I just downloaded the main components APK from basically any Android APK website just make sure on the version you're getting is compatible with your phone and install it like you would in app it automatically updates you to the newest or to the one specified but those are updated quite regularly
These update issues are ridiculous. A user shouldn't have to be bothered or affected by issues between Google and Samsung. Google's priority is their proprietary product, Pixel. Samsung can't function properly or build a device that isn't desperately clinging to Microsoft or Google to make up for its own deficits. There has to be way for these interfaces to operate in tandem rather than running into issues that I can't list because it's too long. It's absurd to have Google app store and Galaxy app store and when you end up with duplicate apps and not finding in either store as if the apps are apparitions or mirages. I've given up on updates and Samsung. There's never an answer or solution. Always a delay without an explanation because there's a deeper problem that apparently consumers don't have a right to know. Smoke and mirrors.
