Feature Request: Google Gemini Call Screening

Samsung, please adopt the Google Gemini call screening functionality. Google has implemented call screening on their Pixel devices for years and has been proven to help eliminate spam, fraud, and scam calls. Even Apple is implementing their own version of call screening into IOS26 this year. Please implement Call Screening into the Samsung dialer app.

I tried the Samsung, it's alright but I still have to take the phone out to look each time. Google does have a dialer app that I'm actually using, but it doesn't include the screening function. I'm guessing you're right about the exclusivity function. Samsung does use hiya for their filters so it wouldn't be a far leap to license that technology for their phones.

The only reason I screen is because I get 20-30 spam calls a day at least. Very annoying 😑

I see by my call log, that many come in but are blocked by the spam blocker. They don't ring and they go to VM, where I just delete them without listening to them.  Some that ring through as "spam likely", I just tap to dismiss (I changed my call answering to tap rather than swipe), and then block from the call log.  Once blocked, they don't ever ring through again.  There are some that ring through that are not flagged as spam likely, but those are rarer, and those I report to hiya and then they get blocked.  If they leave a VM, I listen to the first 3 seconds  (at my leisure) to determine legitimacy and then delete and block if spam.  I don't get 20-30 per day, more like 3-5 get through that are not flagged.

Yes, my block list is HUGE. I have my dad on my plan and he answers EVERYONE, then complains to me about it, that's why I'm so annoyed with the spam calls. If I could put a screen call ai on his phone then my life would dramatically improve. Thinking of paying the money to Hiya for their call screen tech, just to put on his phone, but I really hate to pay that much money. He's 87 by the way.

You can try putting his phone on do not disturb and only allow contacts through. Just make sure any doctors and such are in his contacts.

He won't let me. Says someone might call him that he doesn't have their number. Since he's a working rancher, I cant fault him.
He said I can put the call screen on sense it's not a complete block.
He's stubborn.

He wouldnt miss those calls, they'd still show up in his call list and get directed to VM. Legit callers will leave a message.

Okay, now I'm just complaining, but he has no problem leaving a message, but forgets or just doesn't care to listen to his voice messages.
Refuses to text, says he got a phone to talk, not type.
I swear, my life is full of fun, but I'll miss this when he's gone so I'll deal.

I appreciate the advice, guess I'm being cheap, but dang, I don't want to pay for a service, just because he refuses to not answer. Says it's rude, lol.

I heard that the Phone by Google dialer has better spam controls. You can download it from the Play store.  It is Google's dialer and it is free and ad free.  Just download it, open it and dial (configure it how you want).  You can replace Samsung's dialer icon on the favorites bar with the Google dialer and then relegate the Samsung dialer to the app drawer (and, for good measure, hide it).  You might want to try that for a while and see how you like it.  If you/he doesn't like it, then you can go ahead and subscribe to something you feel is better.
