so, i am visually impaired so therefore i lose my phone a decent amount. but, when i go to use the bixby find my phone feature where it will start playing the find my sound, now it just says first use your fingerprints to unlock the device. the one ironic thing is of course when you have your phone in your hand and you say fine my phone, and you do the fingerprint unlock, then it will play the sound, but not when your phone is locked which is primarily what your phone is if it is lost.

Best solution, tbh, would be to get a Samsung Watch to connect to your phone. You can utilize the "find my" the same way, except it WILL ring regardless if the screen lock is on or not. Also has features like fall detection that come in handy

You are right, it makes absolutely no sense. Please send feedback to the development team.

If you can't, or don't want to buy a watch, you can make a routine to keep your phone unlocked when connected to your wifi network, if the main place you misplace the phone is at home.

@EthanRieger can also goto โ€” settings -> lock screen and AOD -> extend unlock -> trusted places โ€” and from there can add as many trusted places as they would like and if wifi is available at that location, be able to link it. (but they must be at that location with the wifi connected to add it)1756025240707.jpgP60G3E0f31.png

They can, but trusted places is not as accurate as adding to a routine, putting in the addresses and expanding the radius around the address. @LongHiker"s suggestion of using Bixby while locked, or @Dan2023'ss suggestion of the smart tag, or any combination of suggestions here might work. Perhaps getting a neon case.

You can purchase a Samsung SmartTag 2 for under $20, which is much, much cheaper than a Samsung watch. Once it's set up you can attach it to anything else that you value, like your car keys. Then if you misplace your keys, you can find them with your phone using Samsung's SmartThings app. Better yet, you can pick up your keys and press a button on the SmartTag 2 and your phone will ring.
