Samsung Apps and ServicesIn order to have the leave group option, the chat must be RCS, meaning that the originator of the chat has RCS active and you do, as well. SMS chats do not have this option. If this is a chat with people you know, ask the originator to remove you from the chat, put the chat on silent, or send the chat to spam & blocked. If it's a chat started by some random stranger you do not know, it's a phishing expedition and should be ignored, marked as spam and not interacted with in any way, not even to remove yourself. In order to mark and block a chat as spam in Google messages, you have to go to the messages settings and turn on spam controls.
In order to put a chat on mute, tap on the chat, go to details tap on notifications and then change the notification settings for that chat, to "silent". You won't get pop up notifications and you won't get sounds, but you will see notifications in the notification panel. If you don't want to even see those, just turn off notifications for that chat.
