Annoying group messages

Good evening everyone, is there any way to remove myself or leave group chat that someone else started? I'm so over it!

: the Google Messages app and tap the group chat you want to leave.

Tap the three dots (More) in the upper-right corner.

Tap Group details.

Scroll down and select Leave group at the bottom.

Confirm by tapping OK or leave

I tried and "leave group" is not an option.

Mute & Archive: Tap the three dots > Mute notifications, then select Silent, and finally archive the chat to remove it from your main list. 

Sms not rcs not able yo get removed with above option

In order to have the leave group option, the chat must be RCS, meaning that the originator of the chat has RCS active and you do, as well.  SMS chats do not have this option.  If this is a chat with people you know, ask the originator to remove you from the chat, put the chat on silent, or send the chat to spam & blocked.  If it's a chat started by some random stranger you do not know, it's a phishing expedition and should be ignored, marked as spam and not interacted with in any way, not even to remove yourself.  In order to mark and block a chat as spam in Google messages, you have to go to the messages settings and turn on spam controls.

In order to put a chat on mute, tap on the chat, go to details tap on notifications and then change the notification settings for that chat, to "silent".  You won't get pop up notifications and you won't get sounds, but you will see notifications in the notification panel.  If you don't want to even see those, just turn off notifications for that chat.
