Getting random invites to messaging groups

I have this problem multiple times now, random people inviting me to messages group, and the worst is that it doesn't even tell you who it was. One time I had this problem when I got invited and I left group, and then whoever the guy was invited me again and leave again and then invited me again, it was like this like 10 times until I get irritated and add everyone on my contacts and block everyone so it stoped. So can we upgrade that. That the only people that can invite us is our contacts or people we know, no random people around the world, and if not at least add who is the number that is inviting. Other things is allow us to block the number without adding to contacts. Please, thank you.

Is this in your regular messaging app? RCS spam is a thing. If you engage AT ALL, including leaving the group, the Spammers/Scammers know they have hit a live phone # and will continue to send you garbage.

Do not engage at all, whatsoever. Unfortunately, you will probably continue to receive these for a while since you have interacted and they now know your # is active.

Best and only course of action is to report as spam and move on.

If you are using Google messages, reporting spam does block the number without adding it to your contacts.

I completely agree, but not engaging is not really solving the problem. It would be great if Samsung added an option to prevent random group invites altogether.

Some ideas that could help:

  • Allow group invites only from contacts in your address book.
  • Add a โ€œReport as Spamโ€ feature for unwanted invites.
  • Provide a block option for unknown numbers sending group invites.
  • Enable a privacy setting to completely disable group invitations from strangers.

This happens to me daily and is quite frustrating. Is there any official channel other than this forum where we can report this issue or request this feature? It feels like something that should be escalated.
