No Longer Seamlessly Displaying Art Mode with Apple TV 4K

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

Did a who-is on that FTP server.  Should assuage some fears seeing it is registered to a Samsung affiliate

Following up - I put my money where my mouth is.  Installed the file I downloaded from the FTP server listed in a screenshot on page 17.  Worked a charm!

My 55in (US) QN55LS03BAFXZA updated from 1520 to 1601.8 without a problem! Formatted the USB drive to MS-DOS and copied the entire T-PTMAKUC to the drive. Plugged into the One Connect box before hitting the check for update button. Option popped up for checking the USB drive for update data about 25% of the way through the check for update progress bar. Update took about 2 minutes. 

Seems to have fixed the issue, goes straight to Portrait mode! My setup includes a Sonos Beam and ATV4k.

I just downloaded this update and copied it to my USB drive but the stupid TV does not find the update. Drive is FAT32 formatted. The file is not hidden inside another file, etc... Ideas? I have the same QN55LS03BAFXZA as Astronaut.

Check if 'Auto Update' is checked.  If it is the TV won't search the USB stick I think.

Same for me. I just posted below as well, but I finally got the updated downloaded and my TV tells me there is not update available on my USB drive. Automatic Updates is unchecked. My current system version is 1523 not 1601 so it should see the update.  There were two other image files on my USB stick, but it saw those as well as the folder when I first inserted the stick. That shouldn't keep the update from finding the update folder.

The FTP downloaded file installed 1601 successfully on my QN55LS03BDFXZAPD.  Por fin!

Ok. I am flummoxed. As I mentioned the other day, I updated my 32" tv by going to Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now it found an update and updated to 1523. The update took me to Art Mode only the first time. Since others seem to be having luck with the downloaded file (from page 17), I just tried that. Since this is a fix for AppleTV, I started by trying to download this on my Mac. After several tries, I could not get the file to download on my Mac. I finally gave up and tried on my PC and it downloaded quickly and with no problem. I unzipped it, put the T-PTMAKUC folder on the USB stick and connected it to my one-connect box. As soon as I got to the step where I said, yes, please update from the USB stick, it went and looked at the USB stick and said there was no new update available. So, if this is supposed to be version 1601.8 why is it telling me there is no new version available when I'm at 1523? I also have "Auto Updated" unchecked as suggested by someone above. What in the world?! The amount of wasted time trying to fix this is so frustrating!

I tried 1601.8 since 1523 was not recognized by the TV. Despite Samsung Page for downloading updated firmware manually.  They can't even get that portion done properly. After someone verified the ip address as part of Samsung, I installed it. Rebooted everything, made sure Anynet is enabled and ATV cec enabled and now it all works like it used to. No more Art Mode quitting on its own and reverting to NO Signal 10 or more times a day. It Stays on Art Mode. When I wake up Apple TV it quickly switches to ATV and when ATV sleeps or I hit the power button on the ATV remote it switches to Art Mode and more importantly it STAYS ON ART MODE!!! Finally after 2 months of this problem, this firmware fixes it. What are you waiting for Samsung, load this on the site or push it OTA!
