Good morning. I have a 55" Q8DT, Model QN55Q8DTAFXZA. I purchased a new Nintendo Switch 2 and have everything hooked up fine. However there is an HDR adjustment setting through the Switch that lets you calibrate according to 2 images. One will white out with a slider while the other remains visible. However when trying to adjust no matter what I do I cannot get that to not white out both simultaneously.
I spoke with Nintendo and Samsung this morning besides searching the web. A couple of suggestions that were recommended are not options on my model. I was told to go into Expert Picture Settings and change 'Dynamic Tone Mapping' and or "HDR Tone Mapping' to off and enable 'HGIG' on the unit.
The pictures menu does not have any option for tone mapping much less any HDR settings even in expert. It does have a listing for HGIG and that is on. But the calibration still whites out most images.
Nintendo had no answers. After being on the line with the Samsung tech he checked the specs and said with the HGIG my unit does not have any option to change the HDR setting and it is set at maximum by the TV itself with no way to adjust.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

QLED and The Frame TVsThe very first time I put the Switch 2 on it did recognize it. But once I pulled the HDMI and then reinserted it I tried multiple times to detect the game system and the TV kept saying it could not detect what was inserted.

QLED and The Frame TVsI actually splurged for the 55" S90D and have been playing around with it today. I have my cable box, Fire TV, UHD Player and Switch 2 hooked up. However the only device it detected as what it actually is is the UHD Player. The others came up generic and I had to manually edit what they are. I called Samsung and the woman I spoke with said if I give it a day or so it will eventually recognize the correct device. I call shenanigans as the Q80T did not do that ever.

QLED and The Frame TVsSame problem as everyone on my 50" QN90B. Game mode issues and the HDR thing.
Not sure what the advice is regarding pointing the remote at the switch, but it doesn't work.
Recognised the Switch 2 as a Switch first time and now it won't recognise it at all, all other devices are fine.
I'm assuming something is held in some cache somewhere. Can this be cleared at all?
I can manually set game mode, but that's not the point. I'm not sure if the fault lies with Nintendo or Samsung, although I don't have much faith in either regarding technical problems.

QLED and The Frame TVsIโve got a QN85C and I canโt get HDR working and looking decent. With HDR enabled on the switch 2 and HGIG enabled on the TV with HDMI+ enabled and game mode manually selected because the TV doesnโt recognize itโฆ the entire image is faded out like a white fog is over it. When game mode HDR is set from Basic to Advanced you can see everything brighter but the colors are pastel and faded. There seems to be no mode where HDR looks โgoodโ for some reason.
In the end my husband couldnโt stand watching me try to make HDR look โrightโ for the Switch 2 and we just turned it off completely and played some Mario Kart.
