My TV (S95CA) updated to firmware 2202 and now eArc doesn't work. The TV will initially connect with the amp (a Sony STR DN1080) but will then mute the amp before reverting to internal speaker output.
This worked fine in the previous firmware. Is there a way of rolling back firmware or an update to fix the issue?
I feed all sources through an amp which outputs to HDMI 1 on the TV (new QA55QN85F). Suddenly the TV re-labelled the HDMI 1 as "PC" which caused picture modes to change when the amp switched sources. I found a post here that advksed me to edit teh name back to something usable such as "Home Theatre", viola, the issue is fixed - the picture mode stays the same no matter which source is selected.
It would be worth checking whether something similar has happened - i.e. if the input has been re-labelled, perhaps that also affects eArc operation? If not that, then perhaps another setting buried in one of the multitudes of menu options relating to sound has been changed?
