Got this Samsung monitor about 2 years ago, and recently it's started to develop horizontal lines that show on darker colors.
It's not a cable or computer issue because it also shows on the monitor's settings menu

Model number: LS24R35A

The third image shows different shades of gray, you can see the lines better there.

Have you tried adjusting the refresh rate?  If you did that and still have the lines, then it most likely is a display panel or video board issue.  You would have to get it evaluated and decide whether it is more economical/practical to fix it or purchase a new one. It occurs to me that it could also be your computer's video card.  Have you tried connecting the monitor to a different device?

I don't want an AI generated answer. The HDMI cable or computer is not the issue, and another input will have the same issue because the monitor settings themselves show lines as well.

I'm thinking that it's a display panel issue, is there a way this could be fixed (except replacing the monitor)?

The only option for refresh rate is 60hz.

The video card isn't the issue because while the computer was off, I opened the monitor's onboard settings and the lines showed up there.

Looks like it must be a panel issue then... this monitor did not experience an impact or anything, it was being used as intended. Great quality!

I'll deal with it for now, but if it gets worse, then i'll have to get a new monitor
