27" S70D UHD Monitor- firmware update - firmware not found on usb stick

Hi all,

I'm trying to update the firmware on my S27D702EAN 27" 4k monitor.

I downloaded the firmware file M-D8000SGZZ-1005.0[03D1].img and put it on a usb fat 32 formatted drive. The firmware currently on the monitor is M-D8000SGZZ-1001.0

When I navigate through the menu to do a software update, it says its searching for the file, and then it can't find it. What's the correct file naming and extension to rename it to? Is that the issue or is it something else?

Btw, I have formatted a 2GB usb stick to fat32 and then put the firmware update file directly in the root directory.

Is there a possibility that Samsung support can tell me what the file format and naming convention should be? I'd like to be able to proceed with the update.

Hello BigceeWorks,

We advise the USB device needs to be empty and FAT32 formatted. We also have this article https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10002051/ to assist you going forward.

Ok, I proceeded to the download page.

Manuals & Software | Official Samsung Support US

Then I downloaded and unzipped the folder. I copied the file M-D8000SGZZ-1005.0[03D1].img

to a freshly formatted fat32 usb drive of 2gb. I put the file in the root of the drive.

I used a different usb drive than previously.

I put the usb drive in the usb port on the monitor.

I then navigated through the menu to Menu > support > software update.

It said searching for software, and it found an update! I hit OK and it updated after a couple minutes.

Now the software version shows the updated version!
