After googling my issue, it seems this is a growing concern with Samsung TVs purchased in the last 6 months or so. Lots of folks on reddit and elsewhere seem to be having power issues where either the TV will no longer power on, or it's tripping their circuit breakers.
Since putting my S90D in my bedroom, my circuit breaker has been tripped several times. At first, I wasn't convinced it was the TV, even though every single time it has tripped, I've been watching it. I just didn't think a TV drew enough power to trip a breaker.
To be clear, I have other things with significantly higher expected power draw on this circuit, which covers my 2 bedrooms. One of those things is a gaming PC. I can game on that PC for hours with no issue, no trip of my circuit breaker. The breaker has ONLY ever tripped while actively watching my Samsung S90D, purchased directly from Samsung.
I have filed a ticket and have someone coming out, but based on what I'm reading online, I'm concerned about any solution other than a straight up refund, so I'm curious if anyone else has gotten a repair that stabilized the issue. The symptom is sporadic - since getting the TV in late November, it has probably tripped my breaker about 8 or 10 times now. I can't just reproduce it easily, but 100% of the time it has tripped, it has been while watching this TV and I don't even watch very much TV in my bedroom (mostly I watch on my Frame TV out in my living room).
Has anyone else experienced circuit breaker / fuse trips, and more importantly: has anyone's TV service appointment/repair actually fixed the issue to a level of confidence you're comfortable with?
