LED and OLED TVsFor the past 2 days, I've been getting an EXTREMELY annoying popup notification with small ding sound. This pops up about every 2 hours and disappears in 5 seconds. Impossible and just plain silly to not be able to read it. It does say something about thanks for being a customer and that smart hub collects data in some kind of way and that you can mess with settings in settings. I have never been able to read it as it leaves so fast. I just disconnected it from my network prior to posting this. Anyone knows what this is and most importantly, how to stop it?
I only hope that disconnecting it from my network will stop these messages but only thing I can find under privacy settings want me to agree to a bunch of check marks. I clicked none of them as I do not agree with their TOS for something that I rarely use. This TV is strictly as a monitor and have no antenna connected. I could completely disable smart hub as I may just have by disconnecting the network connection.
UPDATE EDIT:
Taking the TV offline seemed to have fixed the issue but the loss of IP remote control via watch and home assistance is an annoying too. My plan is to Block the TV's mac address from any WAN (Wide Area Network) access via my router. I'll put it back on the network so that my home assistance setup still has access to it so I'll still have my remote control features but the TV and Samsung has no access to and can't make changes to my purchased and owned property.
The TV is used as a monitor like I said so a dumb tv will be fine if I can't get it to work how I mentioned. I'll update if anyone even cares about that route.
UPDATE 2: I have since reconnected my TV back to the network and instantly saw the warning again. I then blocked WAN access of the TV via my router but it is connected to my LAN only.
I then disconnected my phone offline to test and still have access to my Home Assistant features to the TV online as that is via a encrypted DDNS running through my own micro PC setup along with every other former cloud device I own. All controlled by me. Now Samsung can't break what they can't connect to.
Solved! Go to Solution.

LED and OLED TVsI've gotten this as well starting yesterday or the day before on my QN900B. I managed to capture the message on my camera phone (attached). I've already gone in and multiple times hit "I agree" to everything I could find that has an agreement. Still happening. I know it's a small thing but it SURE is annoying!
This kind of thing just shouldn't happen. Should be ONE global area where you can go to acknowledge or agree to things, not to mention, change your notification or pop up settings!

LED and OLED TVsIt's impossible for me to see my text on all the smart hub privacy stuff without standing right up by the TV. And being older...the Samsung remote is very difficult to see buttons and navigate. Fire stick remote is easy. And as a rule I can ignore text on a program and not hobble to the TV. But I don't have that option with this popup. I must deal with trying to read small print and scroll down the text that I disagree with. No option to refuse I guess. Didn't see that it was option.

LED and OLED TVsI'm here because last 3 days on ONE of my Samsung TVs I'm getting smart hub alerts I've NEVER had popup before. I use a fire stick. So I have to go and get Samsung remote to turn it off. I spent hours with the popup before I realized the smart hub was Samsung and not related to fire stick. This is incredibly annoying and unsettling thinking what could be so **bleep** important they need to remind me they are tracking me. I am not happy.

LED and OLED TVsI wonder if it's only certain or newer models? I have a nice Samsung computer monitor I just bought a few months ago and it got an update two nights ago..said it was for UI. Haven't noticed any pop ups there but frankly, no notice of anything. I only use it with my Mac laptop so I don't pop into the UI and do things there. In my bedroom I have an AU8000 that I think is like 3 years old. No pop up or anything showing there and I had it check for updates and it said it's on the latest (version 2220).
So I wonder if it's something related just to my 900B? Hopefully Samsung gives us an answer. It's amazing just how annoying that stupid ping and the message is. Was even MORE frustrating to me as I couldn't read the **bleep** thing before it would disappear! š

LED and OLED TVsMine does not go away in 5 secs. It doesn't go away till I use the Samsung remote. AND I just RE registered, signed up to an account (again) just to be able to get in to this chat. I never use the hub except to get it to leave me alone or when for some reason it decides to start airing something not on my HDMI 2 fire stick. And my other Samsung, is older version and I have not yet seen it popup this alert. I do wish the updates didn't totally change my timeout and screensaver stuff. But I'll prefer that to a popup alert telling me they are tracking me.

LED and OLED TVsThis is infuriating. I tried blocking outgoing internet for the TV on my firewall but then I couldn't turn the TV on and off from Home my Assistant scripts and webhooks because they rely on the cloud based SmartThings integration. Just another bullet point in my increasingly long list of why to never buy another Samsung TV. Sony Bravia here I come!

LED and OLED TVsJust so you know, I have home assistant and have sucessfully blocked my TV's mac address via my router from going online. It is still connected to my LAN which is the same as my home assistant. My home assistant is connected online via my own DDNS and encrypted connection. I have restored full home assistant controls from anywhere in the world while my TV itself is blocked from going online. I used my Asus router and they made it extremely simple to do.
