LED and OLED TVsI recently visited a friend who has an Android TV. I appreciated how far Tizen's operating system lagged behind Android in terms of capabilities and the collection of third-party applications. I don't even have to think about implementing some functions on Andoid, at a time like Tizen, it's impossible to do much. For example, I can just take any *.apk file and put it on the TV. At the same time, it is simply impossible to do it on Tizen. I can also take any app, and with its source code, in most cases, it's enough to just adapt that app to display on the TV, while on Tizen I'll have to learn again and rewrite everything from scratch to make it work on the TV. And do not forget that even if you can write an application on Tizen, it will have limited capabilities and audit coverage, unlike the one on Android.
In my dreams, I would see a TV with OneUI on Android. Because of such unfortunate shortcomings, I have to look at competitors like Philips, Sony, TCL, just because they use Android.
Actually, the question itself. I wonder which of us would also be switching Samsung to Android (at least AOSP without Google services), and ideally from the Play Market. Would it be a salvation?
Or maybe someone knows Samsung's Android TVs? Or maybe there are any plans?
