Water Dispense Won't Stop Running

I have a Samsung 3-door French door refrigerator (RF28HFEDBSR/AA), about 8 years old.  Twice in the past week, when I try to get a glass of water, the water dispenser won't stop running, spilling water all over the floor.  This continues even if I open the door to the refrigerator.  I tried moving the water dispenser paddle back and forth, but this has no effect, and the water keeps pouring out.

Would really appreciate any advice on how to stop this from occuring, or what to do when it next occurs.  Thank you.

@user7kICRQmNLJ It sounds like the valve attached to the water dispenser paddle may need to be replaced.

Call a service tech or 8yr old refrigerator time to buy a new
one.
