I have a Samsung RS27T5200SR/AA refrigerator. My ice dispenser is not dumping ice unless I hit the test button. I have done all the testing and with support as well. I did simple troubleshooting and nothing helped. I found out how to pull a diagnostics and I get the Error 8A 8Y (mainly) and 8A 0Y. Not sure what to do now. Trying not to spend thousand to get this fixed.
I have the same problem. I have to hit the reset button to get the ice to dump. The ice maker is getting plenty of water and makes ice cubes but will not drop the ice. Iโve followed all the diagnostic steps. It just wonโt drop on its own. Please let me know if you called for a technician and they were able to fix the issue.
Since the original purchase, the ice maker has been inconsistent and unreliable. Last year, a technician was dispatched through the Costco/Allstate warranty to replace the fan; however, this repair did not resolve the issue. The service visit was a complete waste of time and failed to correct what appears to be a flawed system.
Given the widespread and persistent nature of this defect, it is difficult to understand why this issue has not resulted in a full recall or replacement program.
To make matters worse, the refrigerator has now experienced a complete compressor failure, resulting in the loss of most meat and dairy products stored in both the refrigerator and freezer. This failure forced me to purchase a basic replacement refrigerator immediately from PC Richard & Son just to maintain food safety while determining next steps for a product that is only five years old.
It is unacceptable that I am forced to rely on a standalone ice maker and a temporary refrigerator due to repeated failures of a premium appliance. Samsung needs to take responsibility for these defects and provide a meaningful resolution.
