Have NSG6DG8700SRAA kitchen gas range converted to propane. Was warned that oven needed several hours of use before finishing chemicals burned off. But we are now two months into ownership and as soon as the oven is started both my wife and I experience burning in our eyes. What can be done to resolve this?

I would call whatever servicer did the conversion and have them check for a leak between the tank and the connector. If it was converted before shipment, and is under warranty, you should call Samsung service and put in a ticket for it. I would not use the range until it is serviced. You can likely also call your local fire department and have them check for leaks. If they find one, you will still have to have the range serviced.

Stove was purchased from PC Richards in Succasunna, NJ. Stove was installed by their tech Tom Thatcher. Tom used the Samsung propane conversion kit, replacing a total of nine different metering jets, top burners and oven. Stove functions perfectly, with the exception of air drying mode. But for the first few minutes of heating the oven, fumes are terribly painful to the eyes. Note, there is no smell, no indication of propane leak, whether OFF or ON.
I don't believe propane has an added scent, the way natural gas does. That's why leaks are so dangerous. Just because Tom used Samsung's kit, does not mean that it was all done properly. Even the most proficient and expert installers can fit/seat something incorrectly. If you are still getting fumes several months after the conversion, something is wrong. Give PC Richards/Tom a call and ask if this is normal. Could even be impurities in the propane tank. Maybe switch propane suppliers.
@HALO Not that the Internet is Bible, but it does say that residential propane contains ethyl mercaptan, the rotten eggs smell, to warn homeowners of leaks, and there is no such smell. And the eye burning effect does not occur when we use the top burners, which of course have fewer BTUs than the oven, but more to the point are not heating any part of the stove other than the cast iron supports. It only happens with the oven. Will contact Tom and ask for service visit. Got the two year extra warranty plan.
