Oven Timer Beeps Only Once

I keep burning my baked goods because I don't hear the timer go off. It beeps once, then just counts up from zero to tell me how long my food has been burning. 

Is there a way to make the timer keep beeping until I turn it off?

I understand how frustrating burning your food can be and not hearing the timer.
Have you always experienced a single beep?

Are you using the "Kitchen timer" and not "timer"?

I could barely hear mine standing in the same room, so I bought a stand alone timer. I have futzed with too many things on this induction range to fight with the blasted timer.
