Family Hub: "Connect to Google Photos" being discontinued

 looks like the ability to easily upload pictures from Google photos is going away. The Family hub app is called "Connect to Google Photos". It allows one to easily add photos directly from Google photos to the hub.

 

I am aware that one can do it via Smart things, but that doesn't work as nicely. I love this integration, how can we get Samsung to reconsider this decision?

I am pretty sure the connector was built by Samsung's hub team. Google photos is not going away, just the Google photos app in the hub, which is used to bring photos into hub.

Google is not discontinuing Photos, Samsung is discontinuing the connector app that allows one to bring photos from Google Photos into family hub.

What is the source of this notification? Did it come via email, text, push notification, appear in your Google account? Did it come from Samsung or Google? It is unlikely to be legitimate, as Google makes money from people buying additional storage space and photo merchandise. It is also a basic component of Android phones. I suggest investigating its legitimacy by doing a Google search of the issue. You seem to be the first and only person to receive this notice.

It showed up on my fridge's hub notifications about 2 hours ago.

That's odd I havent gotten a notification and I use Google photos

Yes it's a lot more apps and features that are going away, like animated wallpaper....I knew I should've gotten an LG! 😡
