My fridge is brand new, and my door alarm does not make any sound when left open. I've tried turning the alarm icon on and off, but it doesn't work. I've tried leaving it open for over 4 minutes. Model number: RF23BB8200QLAA

However, since you did just recently purchase this fridge, you may want to check with your retailer about exchange options instead.
