4-door fridge ice maker filler tube freezes

I have a RF29A9671SR/AA fridge, about 4 years old. The ice cube maker filler tube started freezing a few weeks ago. If I thaw it out using a hair dryer, it unblocks and can then make 3-4 batches of ice before freezing completely again. As it makes these batches, it creates these funky cubes.

Has anyone found a fix for this? 

So far, I've tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps:

• Reset the ice maker several times
• checked water flow
• replaced the water filter
• tried colder and warmer temp settings (right now it's set to 0F)

The first thing you're going to have to do is thaw it with a blow dryer. Just do this once, but make sure it's completely thawed. Then, go into your settings and shut off "Peak Demand Override." This is a power setting that lets the power grid of your area turn down the settings on your refrigerator during peak times. This causes ice overs and freeze-ups. Shut it off; you shouldn't have this problem anymore. Also, make sure you are using a genuine Samsung filter. And also that your freezer is shutting and sealing completely.

@JBTechfanatic - That's interesting. I was not aware of this setting. I turned it off, although my fridge is not connected to the internet, so I am not sure this is the cause. But thank you for the suggestion, I'll see if anything changes.

Yeah, it annoys me that it's turned on even if it's not connected to the internet. It's still going to cycle itself, I believe, every 4 hours or so. So, it would still be doing the same thing. It just gets even worse when you live in a very hot climate place like me, and people are running ACs and the grid is running high. They really throttle that bad boy. Anyway, as long as you start fresh by thawing everything in ice atea out, then running water through it by pressing the manual button, and starting fresh, it should work well for you.

Unfortunately, this did not solve the issue. With Peak Demand off and a genuine Samsung filter, the filler tube still freezes after 3-4 batches.

did you fully defrost it before starting again? once fully defrosted then set to 0 it should take few days to start to fill the ice maker remember that all solid ice has to be defrosted and removed

Yes, after defrosting it makes cubes for 3-4 cycles before the fill tube freezes again. I think this is probably a slow leak/drip on the fill tube. I am guessing it's this part, which has a heater on it. Samsung DA97-21801C assembly pipe water ice;rf9000.

It could be a leak or a small piece of ice that's causing splash or drip. Have you tried ever running a defrost cycle or have you only did a hair dryer? That would be my last recommendation besides ordering the part and replacing it.
