So I usually have my PC hooked up to HDMI port 1 on my Q990D and use eArc going to my S90D. This has been working fine for months until today. My PC no longer sees the soundbar.

Home TheaterWanted to report same issues. e-ARC stopped working after 11+ months in operations.
Symptoms I can see volume being controlled but no sound from soundbar.
At first I tought this was my cable issue got another certified HDMI cable replaced it started to work.
3 days after issues returned
then I just powered off both TV and Soundbar sound returned retuned.
3 days after issues returned.
suspecting e-ARC port bit loosey at the soundbar witch they have better latching mechanish especialy that bend.
Also have the latest firmware version not sure when this soundbar did upgraded.
Sending this for repair hope they can fix this or replace it.

Home TheaterI have the same problem. Sound coming through from the TV (Samsung S90D) to the soundbar through eARC intermittently, but the passthrough from both ports (PS5 and Switch) stopped working. TV sees the PS5 and Switch in the list of connections but no audio/video is coming through. This has happened a few times before and factory resetting the soundbar fixed it, but this time the problem has persisted. About to send the soundbar to Samsung for them to look at, hopefully they can solve it.

Home TheaterWhy has Samsung not fixed this issue, where the Q990D soundbar stops working. The issue has been going on for many months.

Home TheaterHello, I have the same issue. I have found if you unplug the soundbar for awhile. I have not timed it, sorry. I usually unplug it and come back later. When you plug it back in the port works again. After 2 to 3 days it will disappear again. I then repeat the process and then in it works fine for a couple more days. I have installed a smart plug to turn off the power to the sound bar overnight between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. I have not had the problem since, fingers crossed. I am hoping a firmware update will correct this as it is ridiculous that this happens on a soundbar like this. I am also, contacting Samsung to see if this is a hardware issue. Hope this helps until a fix can either be pushed via a firmware update or it is repaired under warranty.

Home TheaterI have the exact same problem. I have to unplug the power from soundbar and disconnect the HDMI, wait for a few mins, then reconnect everything to make it work. Then it loses audio again after a few days. I tried with different HDMI and the problem persists. I also have 1021.2 installed. Chatted with Samsung support and they asked me to update the wireframe via USB, and I had to insist that I already had the latest version installed. Hoping to get a technician to come look at it to fix it.

Home TheaterI have the same problem now. Unplugging the TV and soundbar overnight still couldn't fix it. I can only get the soundbar to work with Qsound over wifi, ARC/eARC refuses to connect to my TV. Switching inputs on the soundbar tends to freeze on DIN before the display starts cycling between S MUTE and TV ARC. This is on the latest firmware as of 7/30/2025. Brand new HDMI cables make no difference.
I've had the soundbar for a week. This will be my last Samsung purchase.

Home TheaterI have this same problem.
eARC HDMI port on Samsung TV (UA75TU8000) outputs control and audio to speaker Ok…
But then the HW-Q990D soundbar audio and control (from TV remote) stops working after some time, after TV is turned on again.
Changing HDMI cable and resetting eARC settings on TV doesn’t fix. Both Samsung TV and soundbar firmware is up to date.
Optical audio and bluetooth works Ok on soundbar with no problems.
I suspect a problem with sync of eARC signal received by speaker bar. Power off and on of soundbar will rectify problem, but only for a while until it occurs again.
Note:Whilst the problem is occurring, when Samsung TV is powered off and then back on, the eARC audio starts working on speaker bar for a just a second, but then stops again.
TV audio out at time always shows audio signal being sent on eARC HDMI port.
Samsung needs to rectify this issue.

Home TheaterI have the same tv and issue as you. It worked for 1 hour after I got it last week then after turning the tv off and back on again no sound from earc. My firmware version says 1024.1
Temporary Fix: Plug both optical and hdmi earc port into tv. When you turn on the tv go to sound settings ,change from tv speakers to optical. Set soundbar to D.IN input. You will here a echo in the sound because it is playing both optical and earc. Lower volume to 0 in this mode then go to sound settings and change it to AV eArc Hdmi(leave the soundbar in D.IN). Turn up volume with soundbar remote. Then play atmos coded content, press the info button and it will say Dolby Atmos. You will need to do this every time you turn on tv until samsung fixes this. (they probably won't cause they moved on to the q990f, they should be held accountable for defective firmware)
This is a temporary fix for Atmos sound (idk if real or not but I hear the sounds on the ceiling especially with the race scene in Ready player one and Ghost of Tsushima Directors cut)
