I recently did an update on my Classic Watch 6 as instructed by Samsung. Now when swimming laps, water lock turns on automatically, as it should, BUT I can no longer see my laps, etc while I"m swimming. I have to stop, and then turn off water lock. Before the update it worked fine with water lock on I could tap the dial and view my stats.

Don't you concentrate on swimming while swimming and look at your stats when done?

One reason to wear the watch is to check how far I've swum.

Well, yes, but I don't need to interrupt my laps to do so. When I am finished the stats are there. I swim by time anyway and the split guide gives me a buzz every 10 minutes. You can set the split guide to buzz you every .5 miles if you want. Distance is useless to me in the pool I swim in, because no one knows the length of the pool.

No need to interrupt anything. When it works, can glance at the watch during a flip turn without pause. Then I can stop counting and just enjoy my swim. I don't have much interest in the stats later. If you don't know the length of your pool, I'm not sure what stats you can get anyway

Calories burned, HR, and time. It is important to me that I finish my time. Distance is not the only measure of fitness.  I can estimate my pool length, but it is less than 25 meters, I am sure, and the watch won't let you set a measurement below 25 meters, so I just use that. I do not care if it's inaccurate, I'm not training for competition. But by using even an inaccurate distance, I can get a measure of how my time/distance compares from one session to the next if I care to.  Since it's a residential pool, sometimes I have to alter my swim pattern to avoid the "walkers" and, even if the distance was accurate, that alteration would throw it off anyway.

Same problem here. Really annoying. Also, is counting steps while swimming which it didn't do before

Because step count is actually arm movement count combined with distance. Usually when swim mode is activated, it turns off the step counter, I guess the update confuses the issue now. Step count is a useless stat anyway.

I did not get the update yet, so I am not experiencing any of this, but the best way to have it addressed is to put in error reports so it can be addressed by the programmers. Complaining about the issues in a user forum is a good way to see whether or not it's an issue isolated to you, but the fixers don't read the forums. Send in your error reports and device logs.

I've been trying to figure out how to do this. They don't make it obvious

@userYRKcDuJ1f3 What, the split guide?  On the watch exercise tile, tap the "more" icon and all the exercises will scroll by.  Center the swim exercise and tap on "settings". Make sure the split guide is turned on, then tap it to select distance or time.  Whichever one you select, tap it and set the time/distance interval you want to be buzzed at.  You can also do it from within the app.  Go to the exercise tile, select "more" then select "swim" and then tap the dot menu and settings, then split guide.  Mine only shows by time, but that may be because I have it set that way on the watch, so I don't get the option to change it in the app--I can only change the time interval.
