I've had my watch for a couple of years now and I don't understand why it power off and it shows at least half charged or the battery does not last all day like it use too when I first got it.

Galaxy WatchBecause an aging battery dies faster. You cannot expect it to behave as if it was new. Powering the watch back on after you shut it down also takes an enormous amount of power because it optimizes as it boots and checks for updates. You can do a diagnostic on the watch battery to see if it's performing normally, or if there is an issue. I just recently replaced my watch 4 with a watch 7 because the 4's battery came up as problematic on the diagnostic. Batteries do not last forever.

Galaxy WatchWhy throw it away? At some point you can use it as a trade in for some other device. It's still usable. So you have to charge it more often - big deal, they will either come up with a fix for it, or the update truly did ruin the battery.

Galaxy WatchThe watch 4 is older than the watch 6 and it *does* have an aging battery. The update may or may not have helped it along. Batteries have a finite life and the older they get the less charge cycles they have left, and they do not stay charged as long. Did you not ever take physics?

Galaxy WatchYes, but we were discussing the OP's watch 4 battery, not your watch 6. The watch 4 is older and the OP probably has had more charging cycles than you.
