My watch 8 will disconnect from my Samsung phone frequently with no apparent reason. Both are charged and within feet of each other. Any suggestions how to stop this?

Galaxy WatchDoes it happen in a particular location? It could be some electro interference. If it happens everywhere, it would be a different problem. Have you recently had an update to either or both devices? Have you cleared the cache partition on each device? Reset the network connections (you will have to re-establish all your wi-fi and Bluetooth connections)?

Yes it has happened everywhere. I have had an update but it happened prior to that. I will try clearing cache and reset network connection and hopefully that works. Thank you for the tips.

You should run the diagnostics for your phone and watch accessible in the Members app in the Support area and see if it identifies any problems. If so, you can create and send feedback there too to Samsung tech support.
