After updating my watch 7 ultra to one ui 8, the option to touch screen to wake keeps turning itself off. I have to enable it every morning.

Yes ! And after fooling around with settings and sleep mode for days I fixed it. I opened modes in settings and started my own mode and named it wake up. I put in a time, for every day of 7:01 am until 10:00 pm and instructed to turn on raise arm to wake and tap to wake noh have no problems.

This has been ongoing for much longer than the UI8 update. It's followed me across my last three watch upgrades (6, 7, & ๐Ÿ˜Ž and maybe longer. Before the UI8 update, the "touch screen to wake" setting would turn off after every monthly update and any major update. After the UI8 update, it began turning off on my Galaxy Watch 7, and now it also turns off on my Galaxy Watch 8 Classic sometime during the night. I tried resets on my Watch 7 with no fix. I've only had the 8 Classic since yesterday. After initializing my new watch, performing software updates, and restoring settings and apps from my previous watch, I ensured that the touch screen to wake feature was set to ON. This morning at 9 AM, the setting is off.

Not sure what changed with my watch 8 some time ago but I no longer need any routine to have touch to wake work.

When I checked the actions within the Sleep Mode, I noticed a small red circle with an exclamation point beside the "Other" actions box. When you click in the box, it brings up all the actions and further displays a red circle beside 'Touch Screen to Wake'. Clicking the red circle returns the error, "Couldn't perform this action because another operation is preventing it."
I clear the error and turn Sleep Mode on and off, but the error continues to recur each time. However, when I check the display settings on the watch, the actions, Rise Wrist, Touch Screen, or Turn Bezel to Wake, all seem to take turns as to which one may or may not turn back on when Sleep Mode is turned off.
I'm going to continue playing with this. Something is preventing one or more actions from returning to its original state.
