Touch screen to wake bug

After updating my watch 7 ultra to one ui 8, the option to touch screen to wake keeps turning itself off. I have to enable it every morning.

As long as you have your watch data backed up to your Samsung Account, a factory reset will solve the issue.

I've tried that. Didn't work

Same thing on my new Watch 8. Sleep mode turns off Touch to Wake (as it should) but then doesn't turn it back on when Sleep mode turns off. I ended up creating a routine on my watch that turns Touch to Wake on right after Sleep mode turns off and stops it just before Sleep mode turns back on (may not need the end point but did it anyway). Been working well the past couple days.

Can you tell me how did you set up your routine, what is the trigger? I cannot find any trigger "mode off", only "mode active"

I did a routine based on start and end times. Have it started a minute after my sleep mode ends and end a minute before my sleep mode starts. Might not need the ending point since sleep mode turns it off

Thanks, good catch. I use the sleep mode every night, and this makes much more sense because it turns off the touch screen to wake feature. We shouldn't have to create a routine to turn it back on every morning. Hopefully, we'll see a software fix soon, but I doubt it. You wrote your comment on July 30, 2025, and here I am writing my reply on November 7, 2025. How do we get our request to the software developers?

I did such routine as a workaround as I do not have constant time of sleep mode, I turn it manually. This routine works for me for last few days

Well, not sure what's changed but now it's working even without any routines running. I noticed when I got home from work that my routine wasn't running (neither my time based one or the one like Szulolo created) to turn on Touch Screen to Wake. But it's still working and when I go to settings on my Watch 8 it's still turned on. So maybe the Sleep Mode has been changed to fix that oversight.
