How do I see my step count on the watch face?

I just bought the Galaxy 7 smartwatch and want to be able to see how many steps I'm taking each day on the Home Screen. I found some instructions that said I need to add the step widget to the home screen and to do that, I have to hold an empty spot on the Home Screen and touch widgets but there's no option for widgets. So how do you add the widget?
