Recently I started facing a heating warning on my Watch 5 Pro (Bluetooth version), even when I am not using it. I tried checking for updates and resetting it many times with no luck. After the warning, the watch displays itself in airplane mode, and it keeps it like that until I restart it, regardless of how long I leave it. Does anyone face the same problem or know how to solve it? Thanks.

Factory reset. If the watch is hot when resting, it may be a failing battery. Otherwise, the watch is probably having a mechanical failure.

Already tried that with no luck. The battery is working fine. It stays more than 2 days, which makes me think it is not a battery issue. I feel it is a software issue that is not solved by resetting

That's really not a thing. Only thing software can do is cellular on LTE models. If Airplane Mode is on, and it's overheating, you should presume it's battery failure.

I have a Bluetooth version, and airplane mode is not enabled. It's enabled by the watch after the overheating warning , got my case ?

Hate to break it to you, but either the CPU is failing or the battery. I would not keep that watch on my wrist. My suggestion would be a Watch6 Classic. They can be gotten on used and refurbished deals now.

Have you run watch diagnostics? The diagnostics can be found through the support tab of the members app

I had this issue but it was a LTE watch 5Pro.
Turned out that the watch was not provisioned correctly with the carrier.
