Recent problems with exercise feature with Classic4 watch

Since about last week my classic4 watc h has been doing something odd. When I set any workout exercise it will start recording and then within a minute or so it will go back to the home screen. The workout will still be recording in the background but the screen showing the calories/ heartrate etc will go away and the home screen loads. I have to touch workout again and then choose the workout that I chose and it will go back and show the w/o in progress. This is frustrating. As far as I know I did not change any settings. How can I fix this

You can change the exercise setting to keep the screen on during workouts. However, as long as it's still recording your workout it shouldn't matter. You don't have to go through all those machinations to get back to the workout screen. You should see the ongoing workout icon at 6 o'clock, and you can just tap that.

Got the same issue on galaxy watch 4 classic. 

Watch Ultra works fine. 

Found the following thread but options are already configured "correctly".

Issue still persists. 

Workout monitor vanishes when doing workout and switches to clock/home screen. No green little icon on 6 indicating that the workout is running.
