On Watch 8 Touch screen to wake has to be turned back on every morning or whenever watch is restarted

Just got my Watch 8 on Thursday. Alternating between my Watch 4 for work (where it seems to get banged up) and my Watch 8 for home and days off. So far, every morning after using Watch 8 for sleep tracking and then in the afternoon after starting it back up when I get home from work, I have to reset the Touch to Wake to turn it back on. I saw this was an issue with the Beta testers on earlier watch models. Does anyone know if / when a fix might be coming out or what I need to do to have my watch keep the setting turned on? Apparently it's off by default so keeps reverting.

On my phone, I have Sleep mode scheduled to start at 20:30 and to turn off at 04:30 (I'm an early to bed and early to rise person, and want to discourage my phone use before heading to bed so losing the sound pretty much does that). I have my Watch 4 and Watch 8 sync to my phone for modes and routines. So yes, I do have a set time for Sleep mode on (and off).

I have now found the following ... Well, not sure what's changed but now it's working even without any routines running. I noticed when I got home from work that my routine wasn't running (neither my time based one or the one like Szulolo created) to turn on Touch Screen to Wake. But it's still working and when I go to settings on my Watch 8 it's still turned on. So maybe the Sleep Mode has been changed to fix that oversight.

Same problem here except I am using watch 7s

Watch ultra 24, the same issue after update to one ui8. After sleep mode is turned off manually, touch screen to wake setting stays off, I need to turn it on every day manually. Starting to drive me crazy

My watch routine worked well this morning and continues to keep touch to wake turned on

I did cache partition wipe but did not help, still the same issue.

I did such routine as a workaround as I do not have constant time of sleep mode, I turn it manually. This routine works for me for last few days
