From someone who owns a Watch Ultra and a Watch 6 Classic, and loves the design of each in its own respect. If what I'm seeing around the the interwebs is true regarding the next Classic taking design cues form the Ultra I'm gonna ask right now for someone to please put a stop to the madness. My Ultra is my daily driver that I throw a case on if I'm going on a more grimy active mission. But the 6 Classic is my head turner when I'm suited up and want to keep that energy rocking down to my wrist. Silver Classic with a metal band, fugidaboudit. Round watches are still cool and Classic ain't Classic if it has a new school form factor. Give me a ROUND 8 Classic the way its supposed to look, and also a Watch Ultra2 with a rotating bezel. Boom! Everyone's happy.
Save money and buy the previous version of the Ultra. I only noticed minor tweaks to the new one. Not worth 600 for new one when its half off for the previous version
Just went to check out the trade in for my Ultra 7 on the 2025 Ultra 8 (I do it every year). It is showing a lot of older and off brand watches in the trade in option and values - but not the Ultra 7? Sales is not responding and the chat options today are grayed out. Anyone know if this is a programming mistake on the web site - or is it going to be the case and a marketing decision - no trade ups on the Ultra 7?
Did you notice Samsung is not offering a trade in for the Watch Ultra from last year? Extremely disappointed. Big mistake. Let's see just how many units will sell.
I wish that Samsung would've kept the original Galaxy watch ultra specs and design, then just came out with a galaxy watch ultra 2nd edition, that way u could still get the 1st generation for a massive discount because before the unpacked event today; as of two days ago; u could get the galaxy watch ultra with trading in for example the galaxy watch 5 pro for ≈ $160 figuring taxes it would be like $175 at most. I was really hoping they'd make a second-generation Ultra watch instead of sticking to the 1st generation.
Here's my purchasing philosophy for Galaxy watches, ymmv. I bought the first Galaxy watch that had the rotating bezel and absolutely fell in love. Even when the Galaxy watch 3 classic came out I was hesitant to buy because of the high price point. That's when my philosophy kicked into high gear. At that point I waited until the next time a Galaxy watch came out with a rotating bezel, which was the Galaxy watch 4 classic, and then I went on to eBay and purchased a refurbished Galaxy watch 3. I realize that many people that were upgrading their watches were now selling them out right on eBay rather than trying to trade them in with Samsung because it was more profitable for them to sell them directly on ebay. So now, yes, I am a generation behind, but I have what I want with the rotating bezel and it's functionality is still super. What is the best? I typically pay about 1/3 of the original purchase price of the watch when I upgrade. I just got my Galaxy watch 6 classic back in December 2024 in nearly perfect condition from eBay, with taxes and shipping it was $125. I then sold my Galaxy watch for classic on eBay and got more than half back of what I paid for it 2 years ago.
