Galaxy WatchGo to the Wear app. Select Watch Settings. Go to Notifications. Tap on App notifications and choose which apps are allowed to send notifications to your watch. Also turn on show phone notifications on watch and select whether you want them to show on the watch when the phone is not in use or even when the phone is in use.

Galaxy WatchDo you have the correct messages app selected? Which messaging app are you using? Right now you have Samsung Messages selected. Is Samsung Messages still installed on your watch? For your messaging app do you have sound and vibration turned on for messages on your phone? If you do not have it on, it won't vibrate on your watch, but the notification would still appear on your watch. If you are getting other notifications, something must be turned off for messages.
Have you done a factory reset and restored your backup? That may be your only option here.

Galaxy WatchWell, Samsung is the messaging app you have selected to send notifications to the watch. (I know it's confusing, they both say messages, but you can tell by the icon - Samsung has the 3 dots). So, turn that off and turn on Google Messages. You might also want to make sure that Google messages has the companion app installed on the watch. It should be; it usually comes installed on the watch. If it's there, select it as your default messaging app by opening it on from the app screen. Do not turn notifications for them both on - select the one you are using. Only one messaging app can be your default.
