Youtube Quality Issues

On my S25 for YouTube, ive set picture quality to higher picture quality. Yet, when I check video it says 1440p, instead of 2160p. Why's that?

Is your screen set to QHD+?(not sure what it's called) it looks like you're selecting the higher picture quality option. Higher doesn't mean highest so you should tap the advanced option and manually select 2160p60. The option you pick usually means "highest res with no buffering" in my experience.

S25 display resolution is only 1080p

Looks like we might both be mistaken. Not quite 4k or 1080 but closer to 1080 for sure.

Than why does the youtube higher picture quality go to 1440p when screens ability is only 1080p. If i set video to auto its at 1080p.

It is not a resolution issue from either the device nor from YouTube. The S25U at its highest resolution is 3120x1440 because the aspect ratio by screen size is physical (19.5:9). But watching a 4K video, the device will scale it down to using a 4K like resolution in the end. It would be different if the ratio was 3840x2160 pixels (16:9) of which are typically used for TV and monitors. But I don't know of any smartphone that has an actual physical 4K resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio. 

Try not to look at it as not getting actual physical 4K videos, rather 4K modified down to fit on a 1440p vertical/height as opposed to a 2160 one.

The S25 screen is only 1080p resolution though

That was not the initial problem, which was wondering why 2160 is not displayed. Anyway, 1080 is a resolution setting on the S25 as that height works with its screen size. But it ratio to physical screen dimensions is still 19.5:9. So it will scale to make it look 2160.
