Sharing from Gallery to Google messages crashes or doesn't work

When using the share image button from the gallery my Google messages crashes or doesn't work. Just started experiencing this recently. Is this just me or is this happening to others. A solution would be nice if anyone can share.

I can share images to frequent contacts but it won't let me share to a specific contact in Google Messages. I've noticed this over the last couple of days. There was a recent app update, which may have broken something.

EDIT: I should mention this was while using the Google Messages beta version.

Right. I knew I wasn't crazy. This needs to be fixed ASAP

Do you use the stable or beta version of the app?

Stable version. Because I didnt know if the beta version supported Nova Launcher. 🤷🏾‍♂️

It works just fine with Nova. No reason why it shouldn't. Nova is just an alternate way to access your apps and interact with the home screen.

Regardless, it's Google's problem to fix. Feedback should be directed to them.

I cannot receive pictures from anyone. Anyone else have this problem?

It's happening for anytime the share sheet comes up. Like I can't share photos from Gallery app, it crashes. I couldn't share this post with the share menu, it crashes.

Sometimes it says IntentResolver stopped responding. I've tried clearing cache and clearing data.

It was broken in Beta 1 as well. I can't help but think it was from some type of customization I made but I can't remember or find it. Maybe in good lock... I uninstalled all that aren't compatible with 8 yet.

I'm having this problem too on my Samsung Galaxy S25+. It's very annoying.
