I am seeking immediate guidance on how to disable and remove the call recording feature and its associated icon from the call screen on my Samsung S25+. Despite claims that the Auto Record function can be turned off, the app provides no such option. I visited a Corporate Provider store for assistance, but they were unable to remove the feature.

Please note that in my state, recording phone calls without the other partyโ€™s verbal and/or written consent is illegal. The lack of a clear opt-out mechanism for this feature raises serious legal and privacy concerns. If a solution is not provided promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to my stateโ€™s Attorney General for further action.

I appreciate your immediate attention to this issue.

It's because its user error and they have no idea what they're doing and hit random buttons fumbling with their phone.

I worked in electronic/phone repair before and 99% of time there is nothing wrong with their phones but they click on a million links and ads and allow every site in existence to send them notifications or redirects and it bugs the phone. But not in the way they're posting.

If it was brought to a certified repair location and they found no issue then its no issue and user error. You cant fix that.

Best thing would be to just have them download a minimalist dialer or phone by Google and freeze/hide the Samsung one. Just completely remove the option.

Don't be such an **bleep**. The app is in the wrong place & should be able to remove it. Apps not wanted should be easy to uninstall. I have turned on the record app. Yes I didn't know what it was. Tried to remove it, can't, move to better location can't. Since it could be a legal issue Samsung needs to fix it.

Even when using earbuds, the issue continues. The device doesnโ€™t begin recording at the moment the call connects, but typically initiates recording automatically within 10โ€“15 secondsโ€”without any interaction, screen activation, or manual input.

Last week, I was on a call with a client when the recording started unexpectedly, which resulted in a serious problem. I operate in an all-party consent state, where every participant must explicitly agree to the recording before it begins. Failure to obtain consent can result in legal consequences, including fines and potential imprisonment.

This is a built-in application function that poses a legal risk. It must include an option to disable recording, or automatically disable the feature for users located in the thirteen states that require two-party or all-party consent for call recordings.

I find it hard to believe it gets activated on its own without pressing the button to initiate it.

Try clearing the cache in the phone app.

Uninstall the dialer or disable and force stop it, restart the phone then reinstall or update and give it a go. But like others have said it is most likely user error

Doesn't matter if user error. If not wanted should be able to remove it. Normal people don't use ear buds. Having buds in ears is known to cause hearing loss.

Wait, you said call recording without the other party's consent is illegal. That's funny, because if it was, they would not add this feature. Even Apple is copying that (like they always do).

My phone prior to my previous S10 lite was an Asus. It had call recording, but the control was in a logical place. TBH, I thought all phones had that feature - until I came to Samsung and saw people begging for the feature. In some states (4, I think) it is illegal to record without the other party's consent, which is why there is an announcement. It gives the other party time to decline to be recorded. Staying on the line signifies consent. This is why companies always tell you, "this call may be recorded". It is implied that by staying in the line and talking, you have given consent. This guy is laughable with *written* consent. When is one supposed to do that?
