Is this new in One UI 7?

When I get text notifications from multiple people they stack/group and displays the number to the right of the tile. And I need to click it for it to expand to see everything.

Remember on my s24 each text got their own tile.

I keep missing notifications from texts cause they are being grouped.

How can I disable this?

I wasn't a Samsung fan boy until the S24, which I thought was the perfect device. Hit all the bells and whistles until UI 7 and these dumb stacked notifications. If they add an option to turn it off, I'll come back. The issue bugged me so much I had to buy a Pixel 8 Pro. When it's on Android 15, notifications DO NOT stack thank goodness. FIX IT Samsung!

Does Samsung have any plans for rolling back this feature?

Nope. I believe this may be an Android feature. But even so, I actually like the way the notifications stack now. They were always stacked from a single app, but in the past there was a teeny, tiny little arrow and notification count on the upper right of the bubble, that if you didn't hit just right, only opened the app to the first message.  Yeah, so it may have had the senders' names listed on separate lines, but it was only up to 3 and was still a stacked bubble.  Now, when you tap the bubble, all the notifications separate and you can glance at all of them to see which are the important ones, interact with them and then leave the rest there to deal with later.

@realaud  I genuinely do not understand why you keep finding posts about people complaining about this feature, its implementation and inability to turn it off, and responding to them that *you* in particular like how your panel looks now and how everyone disliking your lock screen solution or "simply clicking the button" makes them lazy while blatantly ignoring the major issue of the notification count being barely visible and the last notification hiding everything else (these two things combined together leads to people having various issues, including important work-related notifications being missed, as this comment section discusses).

Good for you, that you like it. However, human beings are not the exact same and for some people it's actually difficult to see many notifications hidden under one. We are not "lazy" or anything, we simply do not function the exact same way you do, and please, oh please, stop being so patronising for no reason. Most people over eighteen are aware that people are not the exact copies of each other and do not see the world in the exact same way, but if you are still not aware of this fact, I am letting you know right now.

TL;DR: not everyone is like you but congrats on enjoying iphonisation of your Samsung.

@realaudPast grouping method with the arrow wasn't perfect, I can't count how much time I wanted the arrow to see the list and ended up on last email. But then I knew I missed new mails and had to open my inbox (annoying but got used to).

Now I just see one notification for last received mail and a discreet number next to it, how can I see that some spammy ad is hiding a very important message??

This update tries to solve a previously flawed function by one that defeat the whole purpose of notifications as it's now easy to overlook something that you needed to pop and stick out there until you deal with it

Oh, please. You know you have a notification. You know they stack. You know there's a count. Just tap the bubble and you can see all the notifications separated. I actually like the new stacking method. Keeps things clean and uncluttered. If people are missing important notifications because they refuse to tap, that's on them. If messages from work are important, set them as priority.  This is no different than the way they stack on the watch.  They are all on top of one another with a number below, so that you know there's more than one.  You tap to separate, or read the first one and swipe it away and on to the next one.

Notifications from the same app were always stacked, they were just stacked a little differently. If you had three texts, the number 3 would sppear sbove a little arrow to expand to see the rest. It also showed one line of each of the texts so you caould see who the texts were from. You had to hit that arrow precisely to seoarate them or you only saw the first one. Why you are all lising your minds about this change is beyond me. It seems the ones who can't distinguish the number are the ones who use dark mode. Change it, or change the color of your notifications in theme park. It's much easier to separate stacks just by tapping the bubble, so even if you can't see the number, the stack will break apart as soon as you tap the message to read it, so you will always know you have multiple notifications.

Over 9 months has passed and still same issue, nothing made from Samsung side. Samsung should look how OnePlus has done that correctly.

There must be possibility to choose wheter to stack notifications or not (ideally per application).

Lot of complaints on other sites also about this annoing Samsung issue. For example https://www.reddit.com/r/oneui/comments/1irgfyg/s25_how_to_disable_notification_stacking/
