I just upgraded to the 25 Samsung Galaxy Ultra from the 22 Galaxy Ultra. Biggest mistake. 90% of my notifications that show up on my phone are deemed "sensitive" and will not display on my Samsung Watch 3. I've contacted Samsung support and they tell me there's no way I can change that. Why don't I have the ability to decide whether or not to display "sensitive" notifications? I am unable to always take my phone out to view notify. That's why I initially bought the S22 and watch. Now both are just junk. If Samsung doesn't provide a fix, I'm getting rid of this phone. It's sad because I have supported Samsung for years and I own Samsung appliances. 1 simple feature and you mess up my entire experience.
Does anyone have a workaround? (other than get another phone, even though I think I might have to)
Considering your watch is going on 5 years old, is running the old Tizen operating system which is not been updated since January of 2024, that's probably the reason why the s25s do not support the sensitive message function because it's such outdated functionality.
I have never had a message show up (or not show up) on my watch as sensitive. When I used my watch 2, the phone supported the OS. When I moved to the watch 4 and now the 7, again, the WearOS is supported by the phone. Samsung has stopped support for Tizen based wearables, and those watches are no longer compatible or usable with the newest phones. So, I would say, yes, that is 100% the problem and you should upgrade your watch. Your carrier may have a deal to get one free with a new watch line of service - if you feel you will be with your carrier for the next 24 months; or you can just buy one. May be some promotions going on now and good trade in deals and the Presidents' Day sales will be coming up.
Thank you for the details. I don't know why the Samsung rep I spoke with couldn't tell me that. I think I will try out the 7. I spent too much money on this phone to not do what I want it to do.
Did the Samsung rep know you wanted to use it with the watch 3, or did you just ask if it would work with your watch? If he knew it was an older watch, he either should be aware it wouldn't work, or he needs to be re-trained. I'm liking the Watch 7 (not the ultra, just the regular 7).
